Chris and Megan Davenport
Chris and Megan have joined Team Hawaii with Carl and Cynthia Spruill. They are planting a church in Kane’ohe on Oahu. Kane’ohe is rapidly growing and serves as home to Marine Corps Base Hawaii. The Island of Oahu is also home to the University of Hawaii and BYU’s Hawaii campus. Sixty-two percent of Hawaii’s population does not claim to hold any religious affiliation, and less than two percent are Evangelical Christian. Hawaii also has the largest homeless population in the nation.
Chris and Megan arrived in Hawaii July 11, 2017. They have already begun meeting people and getting to know their culture. They are starting a Bible Study in September. Chris has begun to get involved with FCA and is reaching out to the University of Hawaii and local high schools in the area. He also plans to get involved with various programs and reach local middle schools and elementary schools. As a recent nursing graduate, Megan is awaiting her Hawaii nursing license, so that she can begin work in the local hospital or public school system. She wants to build relationships with kids so that they might come to know Christ and be examples for their families.
